100 Thieves makes a return to CSGO by taking over Renegades roster

One of the biggest esports teams in the world from North America, 100 Thieves, is making a grand return to CSGO. The organization has taken on the Renegades roster and will have a crack at competing in CSGO once again.

100 Thieves returns to shake up the scene

The organization had already tried their luck at CSGO when they signed the promising Immortals lineup after their surprising form presented at PGL Krakow Major. Unfortunately, due to visa issues and other underlying problems, the team disbanded before even making a LAN appearance.

This time around, things seem to be different, however. Renegades have time and time again surprised their opponents and have a fair share of upsets behind their belts.

Despite the ex-Renegades roster not having won a LAN (let alone a Major) since 2017, the Australian roster had a notable performance at the StarLadder Major by upsetting the likes of G2, FaZe Clan, or ENCE and reaching the semi-finals. This has guaranteed them Legend status at the next Major, meaning they don’t have to go through preliminary qualifying stages.

Renegades were a major force to deal with at the StarLadder Major in Berlin.

The current roster representing 100 Thieves is as follows:

  • Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad
  • Justin “jks” Savage
  • Aaron “AZR” Ward
  • Sean “Gratisfaction” Kaiwai
  • Jay “Liazz” Tregillgas
  • (coach) Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović

What’s next for the organization?

The ex-Renegades roster has been oscillating in the top 10 HLTV ranking for a while. Despite being a top 10 team for sure, some question the team’s potential to be the best of the best. Surely, the CEO of the company, Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, is expecting big things from his team. Can the current 100 Thieves roster overcome the likes of Astralis, Evil Geniuses, or Team Liquid? You can get some 100 Thieves action at their first LAN on Nov. 7 at IEM Beijing. They will have to face Astralis, ENCE, and ViCi to make it out of the group stage alive.
