A League of Legends guide to Mythic items for Mages

League of Legends’ newest preseason patch includes numerous item changes. Many long-time favorites are out of commission, but that doesn’t stop the best players on the rift from doing their job. Daily Esports has a short guide on Mage-oriented Mythic Items to make shopping in-game a bit easier.

Hextech Rocketbelt

  • Stats:
    • 80 Ability Power, 250 Health, 15 Ability Haste
  • Items Needed:
    • Hextech Alternator + Ruby Crystal + Blasting Wand + 900 Gold = 3,200 Gold

Supersonic: Player dashes in target’s direction and unleashes an arc of magic missiles, dealing 200-300 magic damage. The player gains 75% movement speed towards enemies for 2 seconds with a 40-second cooldown.
Mythic Passive: Grants other Legendary items +5 Magic Penetration.
Ornn’s Masterwork Item: Upgraded Aeropack: 110 Ability Power, 350 Health, 20 Ability Haste

This item replaces its previous version, the Hextech Protobelt-01. The difference lies with the amount of Ability Power and Health. Additionally, the fire bolts, or missiles, deal much more damage with this update. Hextech Rocketbelt is a great item if you’re looking to deal any extra damage in order to secure some kills.

Riftmaker

  • Stats:
    • 80 Ability Power, 150 Health, 15 Ability Haste, 15% Omnivamp (converts a % of all physical, magic, and true damage to health.)
  • Items Needed:
    • Blasting Wand + Leeching Leer + 650 Gold = 3,200 Gold

Void Corruption: For each second in combat, the player deals 3% bonus damage, stacking up to 5 times with a max of 15%. At maximum stacks, the bonus damage then converts into true damage.
Mythic Passive: Grants other Legendary items +5% Magic Penetration.
Ornn’s Masterwork Item: Icathia’s Curse: 100 Ability Power, 300 health, 20 Ability Haste, 18% Omnivamp.

This is a perfect item for any aggressive mage that is constantly in combat with enemies, especially during team fights. If you can stack up damage continuously, you’re in for a treat. Riftmaker is also useful because it enhances your AP and converts all damage into health, adding on to the +150 health the item already starts you off with. Any champion that’s the main focus of a team fight would benefit from this, allowing them to scale towards late-game.

Night Harvester

  • Stats:
    • 80 Ability Power, 250 Health, 15 Ability Haste
  • Items Needed:
    • Hextech Alternator + Ruby Crystal + Blasting Wand + 900 Gold = 3,200 Gold

Soulrend: Damaging an enemy champion deals additional 175-250 magic damage and grants the players 25% MS for 1.5 seconds with a 60-second cooldown per enemy.
Mythic Passive: Grants other Legendary items 5 Ability Haste.
Ornn’s Masterwork Item: Vespertide: 110 Ability Power, 350 Health, 20 Ability Haste

This item is perfect if you need that extra damage and movement speed. Also, it is a good replacement for Liandry’s Anguish, which is more focused on mana increases and magic resistance. It is also cheaper, giving you a chance to build something a bit quicker mid-game. Playing a champion such as Morgana or Cassiopeia can benefit from this item if you’re looking to quickly do damage and catch up to a fleeing enemy.
