Anger returns to CSGO for OCEAN’s SapphireKelownaDotCom

Ex-professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) player Todd “anger” Williams announced he’s returning to the competitive scene. He’ll join Kyle “OCEAN” O’Brien’s team, SapphireKelownaDotCom (SKDC) for ESEA Advanced season 33.

His announcement comes as a surprise considering that anger has played little to no CSGO in the last few months. Since leaving Mythic Reborn after seven consecutive seasons, anger focused on streaming. While he remained on Mythic as a streamer, his content revolved primarily around Path of Exile.

However, throughout the last week anger started playing CSGO again on stream. He shook the dust off two days ago, previously not streaming the game since the IEM Katowice qualifiers.

Anger’s history

Anger has a long past in competitive CSGO. Before his Mythic run, he was an active player for the infamous Denial eSports, known for their mistreatment of players. On Denial, they secured a first-place win at Esports Arena Showdown III. Additionally, they finished second during the ECS Season 3 NA Development League Open Qualifier. Following that, they finished fourth in the ECS Season 3 NA Development League.

His longest roster position, though, was on Mythic with the same core players. With Mythic anger qualified three separate times for MDL playoffs.

Reviving SapphireKelowna

OCEAN revived SapphireKelownaDotCom after an almost three-year hiatus. In 2016, their roster joined Team AGG. A version of SKDC last performed at the WorldGaming Canadian Championship series in 2017 where they finished second place, earning $9,500 USD. Since then, however, the roster has been inactive.

The team saw some of CSGO‘s most prominent players pass through their lineup, including Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, Jake “Stewie2k” Yip, and Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski.

Currently, the team is positive (3-2) in Advanced. Anger will be replacing Blake “miniature” Gittins. According to Miniature’s ESEA, he has left SKDC to join Precision Esports also (3-2) in ESEA Advanced.

The new lineup for SKDC is OCEAN, Gene “ayjin” Krivachek, Arya “arya” Hekmat, Derek “desi” Branchen, and anger.
