United States Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is once again exciting the gaming community, sharing that she’ll get out the vote through a casual game of Among Us. Plenty of streamers and organizations, such as Imane “Pokimane” Anys and FaZe Clan, have raised their hand to be a part of this livestream. Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has also earned her path to Partner on Twitch, with over 9,000 followers so far.

AOC using Among Us to encourage voter participation

Although AOC has never played Among Us, she plans to do so to encourage interested viewers to vote. On Monday evening, she asked her 9.1 million Twitter followers if she should live stream a game. In less than an hour, her tweet received over 10,000 retweets and 8,000 replies.

The following comments consisted of memes, excited fans, and gaming personalities offering their time to the Bronx-born politician. TSM, FaZe Clan, and Luminosity Gaming showed interest in the tweet, asking for DMs for an opportunity to join her. Luckily, Popular streamers Pokimane and Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker received a DM from AOC, giving them a chance to stream with her.

Not long after, AOC linked her official Twitch page on Twitter.

AOC is best known as one of the youngest US Representatives, currently serving her first term for New York’s 14th congressional district. However, being a politician doesn’t mean she has no time for other hobbies, and this isn’t the first time she’s involved herself in the gaming community. She’s also shared her love of video games, especially for League of Legends. AOC has also raised questions involving the US military’s involvement in recruitment through Twitch.

At the moment, there’s no set time on when AOC will stream the extremely popular game, but you can stay tuned to her Twitch channel for her upcoming game. Keep up with Daily Esports for more gaming and streaming news.
