A few days ago, a mysterious spaceship appeared over the World’s Edge map in Apex Legends. Players noticed three small blue lights in the sky, and upon further inspection, it does look to be a ship of some kind. However, we still had no idea why it was there beyond the fact it had something to do with Season 4. Then, two days ago, we received a full briefing on the new season and some new leaks arose. According to data-miners, the spaceship in Apex Legends could hold a Harvester, as seen in Titanfall 2.

Harvesters arriving in Apex Legends?

If you’ve never played Titanfall 2, then you may not know what a Harvester is in this universe. Essentially, Harvesters are machines that extract minerals from a planet by drilling into the ground. The lights in the sky are supposedly a ship that is holding one of these machines and will release it when Season 4 begins.

Leaker @Shrugtal appears to have been the first to come up with the theory. However, upon further inspection, it appears there are actually in-game files that line up with Shrugtal’s idea. @That1MiningGuy managed to locate the files through the PC version of Apex Legends.

So, with everything starting to make sense, what does this mean for Season 4? Presumably, the Harvester will appear in a location on the World’s Edge map when the season starts on Feb. 4. However, beyond that, we can only speculate.

An educated guess would be that the Harvester dissolves the World’s Edge map after a month or so of Season 4’s lifecycle. As outlined in the new Ranked Series details, Kings Canyon will replace World’s Edge in Ranked for the second half of Season 4. So, perhaps the Harvester is the cause for this, and players will drop into Kings Canyon when Season 5 comes around.
