Respawn Entertainment has released a brand new trailer for Season 6 of Apex Legends. In it, Rampart, the newest legend coming in the update, is the star of the show. We’re able to see all of her abilities in action and even learn some details previously unknown to us. From an initial glance, it seems that Rampart could nestle into the legend meta quite nicely. She’s a defensive-oriented character and her shields, along with her minigun “Sheila,” could make her a prime legend for competitive play. Let’s hop in and see what Rampart’s abilities are.

Rampart’s abilities in Apex Legends

Respawn released the trailer above to showcase exactly what the new legend can do. In addition to that, we also learned the precise descriptions of all Rampart’s abilities, which include her Passive Ability. Below, you can read each ability description and its name.

  • Tactical Ability: Amped Cover – Build a crouch-cover wall which deploys full-cover amped wall that blocks incoming shots and Amps outgoing shots
  • Passive Ability: Modded Loader – Increased Magazine/Heat capacity and faster reloads/recharge when using LMGs and the Minigun.
  • Ultimate Ability: Emplaced Minigun “Sheila” – Place a mounted machine gun that anyone can use. High ammo capacity, long reload time.

This is unlike anything Apex Legends has had in the legend lineup before. For starters, the new Amped Cover ability could be a game-changer. Now, if you or your team is ever in trouble, you can throw up a cover wall for protection. If you’ve played Fortnite before, this will seem eerily familiar.

In regards to Rampart’s Ultimate, Sheila could be extremely overpowered or underpowered. From the trailer, it appears that you can mount Sheila to a surface or the Amped Cover wall itself. This way, you can have the benefit of protection from the wall and a massive gun raining down fire. In addition to that, anyone on the map can use the minigun, so make sure it’s protected or an enemy could use your own ability to kill you.

Apex Legends Season 6 is launching on August 18, so we’ll get to see Rampart in real action then. Make sure to stay tuned to Daily Esports for all Apex Legends news.
