Apex Legends Season 4: Assimilation announced with new Legend Forge

During the DevStream earlier today, Respawn announced Apex Legends Season 4: Assimilation. Set to begin on Feb. 4, the game’s one-year anniversary, Season 4 will introduce new Legend Forge, a Battle Pass, and the intriguing Sentinel sniper rifle. Also, it appears Kings Canyon is finally making its return to the game, though there’s a bit of caveat. In addition to that, Ranked has been somewhat overhauled, with Respawn introducing Splits and a new tier below Apex Predator. Let’s hop in and see everything that’s coming in Season 4 of Apex Legends.

Apex Legends Season 4: Assimilation revealed

We knew something about Season 4 would be unveiled during today’s DevStream. However, we didn’t know that the entirety of Season 4 would be brought to light. It’s nice to see Respawn is fully ready for the release.

Dubbed “Assimilation,” Season 4 will bring tons of exciting new content to Apex Legends, starting with a new Legend. Forge, whom you can see above, is a brute strength character that uses his Shatter Gauntlets to defeat his enemies. Here’s the official description from Respawn:

Confident yet humble, Forge uses his size, strength, and heavy-duty Shatter Gauntlets to batter his opponents into submission.

Coming along with Forge is an all-new Battle Pass that features over 100 cosmetic items, including Apex Packs, Loading Screens, Music Packs, etc. Most likely, legendary skins for Forge will be included in this Battle Pass as well.

Also, skins for the new sniper rifle, Sentinel, will be available in the Battle Pass. The Sentinel is a bolt-action sniper rifle that has an extremely high damage output. There’s no word on what type of ammo the Sentinel will take, though we assume either Heavy or Energy rounds.

Lastly, Season 4 will introduce a rework of Ranked. There’s a ton of information, so you can check out the full notes on EA’s website. However, to summarize, Ranked Series 3 brings Splits, which take place every six weeks. There’s now a tier below Apex Predator as well, being Master tier.

In regards to Kings Canyon, the map will be available in Ranked only as a part of the second split starting March 24. This split will run until May 5, where Season 5 will presumably start. The Worlds Edge map is in Ranked from Feb. 4 until March 23.
