The first real piece of information for Apex Legends Season 6 arrived Thursday in the form of a cinematic trailer. Respawn Entertainment once again went all out with their production value, giving fans a real spectacle to enjoy. The trailer, in addition to looking gorgeous, revealed Season 6’s cover legend Loba, and a new weapon, the Volt SMG. While those were the official reveals, there may have been one more that can be considered unofficial. In the trailer, it appears that Respawn could be hinting at Apex Legends taking off to another planet, which could be the home of a new map: Olympus.
Olympus confirmed by Apex Legends trailer?
If you’re unaware, let us catch you up to speed. Towards the end of Season 5, the questline ended and there were some lines of dialogue that hinted at Season 6 taking place on a new map. Lifeline and Octane both talk about the planet Psamathe, which they’re both originally from. This planet holds the city of Olympus, which is where some believe the next map will take place. Olympus is described as a floating metropolis filled with towering skyscrapers and has a Cyberpunk vibe.
Now that we’re up to speed, did Respawn tease the arrival of Olympus in the Season 6 trailer? It’s hard to tell, but it certainly seems like the Apex Legends are traveling somewhere. There’s a rocketship with “Hammond” written on the side that takes off in the trailer.
Of course, we don’t know for sure where the rocket is headed. However, some are betting that it’s headed towards Psamathe and more specifically, Olympus. Nothing is confirmed as of yet but the dominant rumor in the community is that a new map is arriving in Apex Legends Season 6. We’ll just have to wait and look for any additional teasers.
