Battle for Azeroth: Wrathion and Anduin reunite in Visions of N’Zoth

World of Warcraft characters Wrathion and Anduin are reuniting in Battle for Azeroth: Visions of N’Zoth. The 8.3 patch is now live. With it comes a cinematic preview, the vulpera and mechagnomes as playable Allied Races, and Death Knights as a playable class for all races. This is in addition to the Ny’alotha raid, an updated auction house, a new Horrific Visions feature, and new items and gear.

Wrathion and Anduin reunited

Last seen together near the end of the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria expansion, Wrathion and Anduin did not part ways on good terms. While Wrathion played a part in Garrosh Hellscream’s departure to Draenor – thus helping initiate the Warlords of Draenor expansion – Anduin was left on Azeroth to deal with the consequences.

In the cinematic, Anduin asks Wrathion how to best prepare for N’zoth’s attack. Wrathion’s response is a note on how the Old God would attack the mind. The King of Stormwind also appears to ask for the advice of Valeera Sanguinar, Mathias Shaw, and Baine Bloodhoof.

Two new Allied races

Vulpera and mechagnomes are the two new Allied Races for World of Warcraft players. While the Horde gets vulpera, Alliance players can create mechagnomes. To play as these new races, players must unlock them first by completing a series of quests. Completing the quest chains for the vulpera and mechagnomes will allow players to unlock the Caravan Hyena and Mechagon Mechanostrider mounts respectively.

Death Knights for everyone

The Visions of N’Zoth launch also lets players who pre-purchased World of Warcraft: Shadowlands create Death Knights for every playable race. This means pandaren, vulpera, and mechagnomes can become Death Knights and serve under the Lich King.

However, it should be noted that while players can make pandaren Death Knights right away, the same cannot be said for the new Allied Races, since the new quest chains must be completed first.

New Ny’alotha raid

Along with this launch, World of Warcraft players can participate in the new Ny’alotha, the Waking City raid. Players get to fight 12 raid bosses, including N’Zoth himself. Characters that players face in the raid include Wrathion, the Black Emperor, Maut, The Prophet Skitra, Dark Inquisitor Xanesh, Vexiona, The Hivemind, Ra-den the Despoiled, Carapace of N’Zoth, and, of course, N’Zoth the Corruptor.

Auction house update

As for the auction house, it is now updated with features for both buyers and sellers. For buyers, they can choose the number of items needed and let the auction do its magic by placing the lowest price at the top of the listings.

For sellers, items now come listed in silver and gold. While listings cannot be in copper anymore, sellers can still set a bid price amount and buyout amount, as well as determine how long their auctions will last.

New Horrific Visions feature

Horde and Alliance players can now fight against new instanced challenges in Orgrimmar and Stormwind, respectively. To gain access to these challenges, players must be level 120 and complete a series of quests. A reward from Horrific Visions is Ashjra’kamas, which is a legendary cloak. By helping Wrathion out, players also get to update this cloak to protect themselves from Corruption.

Battle for Azeroth: Visions of N’Zoth is live now. Can you survive against the new horrors?
