In Season 5 of Call of Duty: Warzone, there have been a number of submachine guns popping up to retain relevancy on Verdansk. The ever-strong Mac-10, OTs 9 and even the PPSh-41 have remained at the top of the SMG class for a majority of the season. However, there’s been another weapon lurking that simply needed a Warzone loadout change to join these weapons at the top: the Cold War MP5.

The Black Ops Cold War variant of the MP5 has long been considered the superior version. For one, it has better damage range over its Modern Warfare counterpart. Although, in Season 5, players have generally opted for other SMGs over the Cold War MP5. Perhaps a new loadout for the gun will change that just in time for Season 6, though.

Best Cold War MP5 loadout in Warzone

As with most other SMGs in Warzone, the Cold War MP5 excels in close-range gunfights. Its performance in this area is comparable to other top SMGs in Warzone and as a result, players should have no trouble downing enemies with the Cold War MP5 in close proximity. However, even with its recommended loadout, players will need to equip a long-range weapon with it, like the MG82 or Stoner 63.

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip
  • Stock: Raider Stock
  • Ammunition: STANAG 50 Round Drum

This loadout might look familiar to Warzone players but there are some different elements. For example, there’s no barrel in place, which is replaced by attachments like the Tiger Team Spotlight and Bruiser Grip to add some extra mobility to the CW MP5. These attachments are paired with the Raider Stock for a boosted sprint-to-fire time.

Of course, the Agency Suppressor is still in place to give players a damage range boost, along with suppressed fire. This Cold War MP5 loadout should be able to keep up with any other meta SMG in Warzone for the remainder of Season 5.
