Throughout the vast amount of weapon tuning updates in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5, the classic M4A1 has remained unchanged by Raven Software. In Season 5, the developer has honed in on the assault rifle class for the majority of its weapon balancing. Guns like the Krig 6, XM4 and Cold War AK-47 have all been affected. The M4A1 has not, however, and this has led to players turning back to its ever-reliable Warzone loadout.

Also contributing to the rebirth of the M4A1 are high-profile streamers endorsing it after all of the weapon changes. One streamer, Tyler “TeeP” Polchow, recently said he’s “liking the M4A1 again” and even gave out his recommended loadout for the AR. The loadout helps the M4 compete with the other top rifles and might even become a part of the meta for the remainder of Season 5.

Best M4A1 loadout in Warzone

Since the introduction of Warzone, the recommended loadout for the M4A1 hasn’t changed much. Players found a meta loadout and pretty much stuck to it for the seasons leading up to Black Ops Cold War integration.

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Stock M16 Grenadier
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Magazine: 60 Round Mags

If any veteran Warzone player has used the M4A1 in the past, then they’ve likely seen or used this loadout. It’s among the most tried and true loadouts in the battle royale and only improves the M4.

Starting with the Monolithic Suppressor, Stock M16 Grenadier and Commando Foregrip, the M4’s recoil is virtually non existent. The former two attachments also affect damage range, with the Stock M16 Grenadier adding some bullet velocity as well.

Finally, the VLK 3.0x Optic is the best choice for Modern Warfare rifles and the 60 Round Mags offer some protection in drawn out gunfights. This M4A1 loadout hasn’t needed changing in the past and it doesn’t need an alteration in Warzone Season 5.
