The Call of Duty: Warzone fan base has been seen it all in regard to weapon balancing in Season 5. From fan-favorite guns being nerfed into the ground to others being uplifted, fans have been at a crossroads for most of the season. However, one category has remained virtually the same in terms of meta weapons, the SMG category. At the top of the meta in the class is the OTs 9, which still appears to be the best option in Season 5 of Warzone thanks to its ideal loadout.
While the Bullfrog and maybe even the Cold War MP5 are solid options, it doesn’t look like either can match the OTs 9. The Bullfrog was nerfed in Season 5, paving the way for the OTs to become the best in class. Of course, having a dominant loadout helps the weapon’s cause as well.
Best OTs 9 loadout in Warzone
Although the OTs 9 was also nerfed in Season 5, it also received some buffs to help balance it out. This altered the OTs 9’s loadout in Warzone to feature additional damage range-boosting attachments along with increasing its mobility. Previously, the gun needed some attachments to help with recoil control but that’s no longer needed in Season 5. This resulted in a new recommended loadout.

- Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap
- Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
The loadout begins with two attachments to increase damage range, in the GRU Suppressor and Task Force barrel. These attachments are paired with the Serpent Wrap and KGB Skeletal Stock, which increase ADS and sprint-to-fire time.
When put all together, this OTs 9 loadout overpowers the Cold War MP5 and Bullfrog in strafe speed and recoil control. Also, it outclasses the MP5’s reload time with the VDV 40 Round Fast Mag equipped. All in all, according to the data, the OTs 9 is still the best option for SMGs in Season 5 of Warzone, especially with this loadout.
