If you’re a Call of Duty fan, then it’s no secret to you that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 just launched yesterday. You’re likely also hyper-aware of the buzz surrounding the title and its entrance into the popular battle royale arena – The notable Blackout mode. After well over a decade of annual releases, Call of Duty has finally shed its single-player campaign in favor of bringing more of what really drives the series’ player base – multiplayer. And, given the favorable views we’ve been seeing across the industry with regards to Treyarch’s new direction, Black Ops 4 is sure to be somewhat of a resurgence for Activision’s staple shooter series.
Because the game is entirely multiplayer, early review copies were rather pointless. However, we were provided with a review code yesterday. Therefore, we plan to bring you our impressions of the game in the coming week. Sneak peak? We’ve already had some extensive time with the game just in the last 24 hours. And, we absolutely love it. It’s not without flaws or the need for some tweaking, however. But otherwise, it offers a solid and extensive competitive multiplayer experience. So first overall impressions of the game will be coming soon. Next week, readers can expect two separate comprehensive reviews – one for Blackout, and one for the rest of the multiplayer action. In the meantime, we’ll be hammering away at all the features in Black Ops 4 to bring you a series of guides. That’s right, we’ll die over and over again, much in the same way that we did on Day 1 to bring you the best tips, tricks, and guides to survive Blackout and find success in Heist, Control, and the other competitive multiplayer modes.

It must be known, that even though our luck ran thin last night in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, we had a #1 victor in a solo match of Blackout during its time as beta. And like anything nowadays, it never happened unless it was posted to social media. So, here’s the proof.

Granted, it may have been a bit of luck. But, we fully intend to find out what works and what doesn’t as we embrace every facet of Blackout.
Tip – Spread your wings and glide
For today, let’s kick things off with the first useful tip we can offer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s Blackout mode – deploying the wingsuit. On Day 1, we bled all over the map in match after match of duos (two-person squads). At one point, one of us watched the other jump off the dam and plunge to death. Just like in the beta, we had a difficult time understanding how to deploy the wingsuit as seen in the Blackout trailers. No button prompts come to your aid after you’re in freefall. Thanks to one quick youtube search, a tipster provided the answer.
Run, jump, and then hold the jump button for whichever platform you’re playing on. It’s a simple as that. After plummeting to our deaths thinking we’d be able to figure out how to deploy the wingsuit, we finally used our brains, turned off the stubbornness, and looked to the internet. If we would have done just that during the beta, we might have had our answer!
