Earlier this morning, Activision announced that Season 1 for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone has been delayed. As we reported yesterday, this was the likely move for Warzone, but fans didn’t expect Cold War Season 1 to also have a delay. Nevertheless, the new installment is now releasing on Wednesday, December 16. However, to make up for this, Activision dropped some intel on a ton of new content coming in Season 1. This includes a new Warzone map with Rebirth Island and a Black Ops Cold War map, Raid. The developers also revealed some events and other content arriving in December.

Season 1 of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone delayed

As per usual, the leaks were right, and Season 1 has been slightly delayed. While not the most optimal of news, this does mean that players have more time to reach Master Prestige. Also, this increases the chances of Season 1’s launch going as smoothly as possible.

In preparation for Season 1, Activision announced that a new balancing patch is dropping on December 8. Also, another Double-Double XP week is arriving on December 12 and will continue until December 16.

Finally, the first cosmetic bundles are dropping for Black Ops Cold War. This includes the ‘Field Research’ and ‘Certified’ bundle. Each comes with an Operator skin, weapon blueprint, and a few other cosmetics. Both are also free for any player who logs in between December 8 to 15.

Season 1 content partially revealed

Along with the news of the delay, the developers revealed some of the content fans can expect on December 16. Keep in mind though that this isn’t every piece of content that’s going to be available during Season 1 of either game.

Black Ops Cold War

Warzone

Although players now have to wait an extra week or so, Season 1 looks to be the biggest content drop in the franchise’s history. Hopefully, the wait is worth it.
