It’s already been confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will feature an open beta. Activision confirmed this in the official campaign trailer released earlier this week. However, what the publishers didn’t reveal was the release date for the open beta. Although, we had a general idea thanks to some other events that are lined up for the next month. Still, an actual date hasn’t been revealed until today. The leak for the beta comes through Call of Duty: Warzone, and it seems legitimate.

It’s become a tradition for Call of Duty to feature an open beta before every title releases. First started in 2015, the betas often give the developers valuable insights and allow them to make necessary changes before launch. For Black Ops Cold War, the official release date is November 13, so a beta is likely going to occur at least a month before.

While we always knew when it was likely going to occur, a release date was still unknown. However, the Arabic version of Call of Duty: Warzone has seemingly revealed when the beta will go live.

Roughly translated, the text states that the BOCW Open Beta will begin on October 8 for PlayStation 4. Sony and Activision have signed another exclusivity deal so the beta will arrive on PS4 before any other platform. This is obviously unconfirmed by Activision, but the fact that it was featured in Warzone tells us something.

If you want to ensure your spot in the Black Ops Cold War beta, make sure to digitally pre-order any edition of the game. Pre-ordering a physical edition doesn’t grant you access.

The next big date for the game is September 9, which is the worldwide multiplayer reveal. Perhaps we’ll get some official beta news when this reveal goes live.
