Overnight, a flurry of leaks surfaced for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Perhaps it was the latest Modern Warfare and Warzone update that brought forth the leaks or something else entirely. Regardless, we unofficially found out multiple different aspects of the new entry in the Call of Duty franchise. This includes the game’s release date and multiplayer reveal, editions information, and official description. There were also some other leaks that will be covered in another article today, so stay tuned for that.

New Black Ops Cold War leaks

Starting off, most of this information is coming from either @CODTracker or @ModernWarzone. Both leaking accounts were able to obtain the same information so the leaks do carry more weight than usual. However, they are still leaks, so take everything with a tiny pinch of salt.

That said, let’s begin with the release date and multiplayer reveal for Black Ops Cold War. According to the leaks, the title will fully release on November 13, 2020. This is precluded by a multiplayer reveal, which takes place on September 9.

This likely means that tomorrow’s reveal in Warzone will be a trailer for the Campaign only. We’ve also heard very little about a multiplayer beta, but it will presumably occur sometime after the multiplayer reveal.

Black Ops Cold War editions

We also have information on Black Ops Cold War retail editions. Every year, Call of Duty releases several editions that vary in price and rewards. For this year, we’ll reportedly have three bundles:

  • Standard Edition
  • Cross-Gen Bundle
  • Ultimate Edition

From the looks of it, Activision is not planning to make Black Ops Cold War accessible on next-generation consoles for those who bought a current-generation game. So if you want the title on PS5 or Xbox Series X, you’ll need to spend extra on the Cross-Gen Bundle.

In regards to the Ultimate Bundle, this is reportedly going to come with nine different skins for Operators, Vehicles, and Weapons. Also, every pre-order of any edition will grant the player access to the beta, a Frank Woods Operator skin, and an assault rifle Weapon Blueprint.

Lastly, leakers were able to get ahold of Black Ops Cold War’s official description. From the looks of it, the title will be a direct sequel to the first Black Ops and include multiplayer, zombies, and a campaign. Here’s a snippet from the description:

Beyond the Campaign, players will bring a Cold War arsenal of weapons and equipment into the next generation of Multiplayer and Zombies experiences.

Welcome to the brink. Welcome to Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War.

We should hear more information tomorrow when the title premieres in Warzone.
