The annual Call of Duty leaking season is in full force as more information surfaces for Black Ops Cold War. This morning alone has released more intel regarding the game than the past three months combined. We’ve learned about the game’s release date, plot description, and the future of Warzone battle royale. However, not much about the multiplayer mode within Black Ops Cold War has been leaked. While that still remains true, one leaker seems to have inside knowledge on some “uncomfortable” changes coming.

Changes coming to Black Ops Cold War multiplayer

Every year, the developers of the next Call of Duty do their best to change up the formula. Whether it was developer Treyarch introducing self-healing in Black Ops 4 or Infinity Ward taking away the mini-map in Modern Warfare, it’s always something. Of course, the community often doesn’t agree with these changes and sometimes they’re reverted.

This happened with the mini-map fiasco in Modern Warfare. The beta of the game made the developers see how drastically the change affected the player base. Though the community would like to avoid another fiasco like this, it seems Treyarch is planning on another huge change like the mini-map alteration.

Leaker @Victor__Z is well-known for his almost 100% track record when it comes to Call of Duty leaks. So when he says Black Ops Cold War will feature a game-altering change, it might be wise to heed his words. We’re not sure what this change is, unfortunately, but we do know that Victor states it can be compared to the magnitude of the mini-map change from Modern Warfare.

Victor also states that the beta will provide the developers with any information they need on the rumored change. Presumably, if the entire player base hates the change, a revert could be in order. Of course, there’s no official word on a beta, so we’ll have to wait for more details on this reported change.
