There appears to be a new wrinkle in the Call of Duty: Warzone news cycle for 2021. While the game is already confirmed to be returning for Black Ops Cold War, that’s not the only big piece of news for the battle royale. According to a new job listing by Activision, Warzone could be arriving soon on mobile devices. The job listing calls for an Executive Producer on “WZM.” Obviously, this doesn’t state specifically Warzone Mobile, but you can connect the dots. Let’s take a look at the job offer and what it entails.

Warzone heading to mobile devices soon?

This job listing on Activision’s website appeared earlier today. It calls for an Executive Producer working out of the Mobile Department in Santa Monica, CA. There’s an entire page dedicated to this job offer, which starts off with a “Your Mission” section. Here’s a snippet from that part of the listing.

As Executive Producer, Features you will own product framing and player experience of a new AAA mobile FPS in the Call of Duty franchise. Developing in collaboration with multiple Activision studio locations around the world, this leader is a skilled communicator and development leader who can define and harvest the important elements that define a best-in-class mobile shooter game…

Obviously, Activision doesn’t come right out and say that the new mobile title is for Warzone. However, the acronym used to describe the offer, “WZM,” leads us to believe that it is indeed Warzone coming to mobile.

If this job listing does mean that Warzone is coming to mobile, when could we see it hit digital stores? It’s a little tough to tell how far Activision is with the port. If it’s still looking for an Executive Producer, then it likely means a release window is still a little ways away. However, early-mid 2021 is a solid estimate on a time frame with the current information we have.
