Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5 is arriving within the next week and coming with it is a ton of new content. Slated for a release on either August 4 or 5, Season 5 is set to be the biggest iteration for the battle royale thus far. We already know something is happening with a nuclear bomb and the Stadium location thanks to official teasers. However, a new trailer released yesterday and showed off some previously unknown content. While not official, it seems the AN-94 and APC9 weapons will arrive with Warzone Season 5.

AN-94 and APC9 coming to Warzone

In this new trailer, Activision showcased a new faction coming to Warzone, being the Shadow Company. Essentially, this faction provides new Operators to use in Warzone. From the looks of it, Shadow Company is a group of grizzled veterans that will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. What that goal pertains is still a mystery, but it appears to have something to do with the ongoing war in Verdansk.

While that’s certainly interesting, it’s not what the community was talking about after the trailer’s release. Instead, fans were discussing the possibility of some new weapons arriving in Season 5 of Warzone.

As insider @Okami13_ pointed out, it looks like the AN-94 assault rifle and APC9 submachine gun are the weapons for the new season.

Fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will certainly recognize the AN-94, as it was an extremely popular weapon. The APC9, on the other hand, hasn’t made a direct appearance in Call of Duty before. However, it does look like some submachine guns that have graced previous titles.

At the time of writing, it’s unknown whether both weapons will be available at Season 5’s launch. Activision may wait to release one gun until later on in the season, as it’s done in the past.
