Campaign gameplay for Modern Warfare to be revealed soon

It appears we won’t have to wait much longer for the entirety of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to be revealed. Although we’ve seen a majority of the multiplayer, we still have no confirmed information regarding Campaign. However, according to an Infinity Ward employee, this will soon change.

It’s been nearly two years since Call of Duty has featured a Campaign mode. Black Ops 4 opted for a Battle Royale instead of a story mode. We also haven’t seen anything for Spec Ops, which has been missing from Call of Duty since Modern Warfare 3.

Infinity Ward director gives info on Modern Warfare Campaign

The developers over at Infinity Ward have been extremely tight-lipped about their game. For months, we had no idea about anything regarding Modern Warfare. Even now, while we have tons of multiplayer info, there is still nothing about the other modes.

However, thanks to some Twitter questions, we finally have some knowledge about a possible reveal. The Narrative Director at Infinity Ward, Taylor Kurosaki, let us know when we should expect one.

Of course, “soon” is fairly vague. However, it does mean that we’ll likely see something within the next 1-2 weeks. The next public appearance for Activision is at Gamescom on August 19. This could potentially be a date to monitor for a Campaign reveal.

Kurosaki also let us know about some old faces returning for Modern Warfare’s Campaign.

While he doesn’t elaborate, this is the first piece of information we’ve seen about Campaign. From this, we can assume that Modern Warfare will be taking us down memory lane with its Campaign mode.

What about Spec Ops?

Though Spec Ops has been confirmed, no one knows exactly how it will work. There have been leaks stating the mode will feature a semi-open world with elements from Battle Royale. It will, however, feature squad-based missions similar to previous titles in the series. Infinity Ward has, unfortunately, said nothing more on the subject.

If Spec Ops mode is ready to go, we should see it revealed with the Campaign. It’s highly unlikely Activision would separate the two modes into two different reveals.
