Can the new-look Minnesota Rokkr be a top team in the 2021 CDL?

The Minnesota Rokkr have completely overhauled their roster ahead of the 2021 Call of Duty League. Dropping the entirety of their 2020 roster was a pretty shocking move, as the Rokkr weren’t a horrible team last season. However, management likely saw how many high-profile players were available and gambled on signing a few of them. Well, it’s safe to say they did that and then some. Signing four proven veterans of the scene, Minnesota looks ready to go for the 2021 CDL. Although, was this enough to consider them a top team heading into next season?

Looking at the Minnesota Rokkr roster for 2021

If you missed the announcement, here is the official Minnesota roster for next season:

  • Preston “Priestahh” Greiner
  • Dillon “Attach” Price
  • Mike “MajorManiak” Szymaniak
  • Lamar “Accuracy” Abedi
  • Brian “Saintt” Baroska (Coach)

All in all, that’s a pretty stacked roster on paper. Attach and Accuracy are coming over from New York where they had a decent year while Priestahh and MajorManiak are transitioning from the powerhouse Atlanta FaZe. The roles seem set for the most part, with Attach and Priestahh manning the SMGs, MajorManiak as the Flex, and Accuracy holding the Main AR.

However, rosters on paper mean absolutely nothing. What matters is how the team performs in the game. We saw the 2020 Florida Mutineers have less talent on paper than other teams but still managed to win three Home Series. So the big question is, will the Minnesota Rokkr compete in 2021?

It’s hard to say they won’t at this point. Of course, we can’t say anything definitively without seeing the squad play some Black Ops Cold War. However, the Rokkr possess some amazing talent and it all starts with Priestahh. One of the best SMGs in Call of Duty, Priestahh will need to carry this team more often than not. Pair this with Attach’s consistency and the AR players’ talent, Minnesota has a real chance in the 2021 CDL.
