CDL London concludes with the Chicago Huntsmen taking home the win

CDL London has come to an end after two days of exciting matchups, an electric crowd, and intriguing storylines. However, there has to be a winner at the end of it all, and the Chicago Huntsmen have earned the right to be called champions. Dominating the entire weekend, Chicago never seemed truly in danger of losing a series, going 4-0 in two days of play. Let’s take a look at how they pulled it off and where the other seven teams finished.

Chicago Huntsmen take over CDL London

Coming into CDL London, there was really no question as to who the top team was. Chicago was 2-0 after Launch Weekend, defeating both Dallas and the L.A. Guerrillas. While some other squads, like the Paris Legion, were also 2-0, Chicago seemed to hold a slight edge.

That rang true for the entire weekend, as the Huntsmen won every series they played, bringing their total record to 6-0. To start, they defeated the L.A. Guerrillas and the Dallas Empire by a score of 3-1. Neither series was close, although Seth “Scump” Abner and Matthew “FormaL” Piper did poke fun at the Empire.

Coming into today, Chicago waited to face an opponent, which ended up being the Paris Legion. Though the EU squad took the Huntsmen to a game 5, Chicago ended the series with a 6-0 Search and Destroy performance.

With that win, they found themselves in the grand finals against the Dallas Empire. Since Dallas has yet to take more than a map off Chicago, no one expected this to be close. The Huntsmen ended up sweeping Dallas 3-0, securing their first event win in the Call of Duty League.

Currently, the Huntsmen lead all teams with 70 points in the CDL bracket. Teams gain more points with each series they win. So, while one team may be at the bottom now, they have a chance to make it up in future events.

The next event for the CDL takes place in Atlanta on Feb. 22-23. Make sure to keep up with Daily Esports for all Call of Duty news.
