Chaos Esports Club releases CSGO roster

North American organization Chaos Esports Club announced that they would be parting ways with their CSGO roster. Two of the players were signed in March of 2019, but the other three joined in July of 2018.

The esports organization states the main reason for parting ways with the CSGO roster was the contracts expiring. However, this is also probably due to the fact that the team consistently ended up with disappointing results and a lack of tournament achievements. Since the roster was formed in 2018, the team didn’t manage to earn a single dollar from prize pools until a C-tier tournament in 2019.

The former roster consisted of Linus “Bååten” Andersson, Niclas “PlesseN” Plessen, Daniel “djL” Narancic, Joakim “Relaxa” Gustafsson, and Fredrik “FREDDyFROG” Gustafsson. Relaxa, FREDDyFROG, and djL will stay together for future matches.

“This team is one of the hardest working teams I have come across and it was my first major experience with top level Counter-Strike players. They have teetered on the edge of success many times and have still not quite broken through at the level which any pro CS player aspires to,” wrote Jared Fletcher, the General Manager for Chaos Esports Club. He continued to say, “I have no doubt that this team will eventually find the success they seek and any organization that can support them fully would be lucky to have them.”

The roster’s biggest achievement was a 7 – 8th place finish at 2019’s DreamHack Open Summer where the team won $2,000. That was the only A-tier event the team had ever gone to with its current lineup. The team also went on to place first at Season 3’s One Game Agency Counter PIT event, which is considered a B-tier tournament. The former Chaos roster will play their next matches in Season 4 of LOOT BET and the ECS Pinnacle Cup. They will also take part in Season 32 of Europe’s Mountain Dew League.

Chaos Esports Club revealed they would be actively pursuing new options in North America instead. The distance between Sweden and North America was also brought up as a factor where Chaos struggled when providing support. Could this mean a new home for recently released Lazarus roster Swole Patrol? Let us know what you think.
