Cloud9 CSGO team is effectively empty as Subroza departs
Cloud9 is struggling immensely to attain a stable CSGO roster. Yet another player, Yassine “Subroza” Taoufik, has left the Cloud9 roster effective immediately. As of now, Cloud9 does not have any players on the official active roster, making the team unable to compete at any events.
Player departures
It all started with GEN.G Esports acquiring Timothy “autimatic” Ta, Kenneth “koosta” Suen, Chirs “Elmapuddy” Tebbit, and Damian “daps” Steel from Cloud9. This has left Subroza the only player on the roster of active players alongside Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas, who decided to seek a different team in the near future, effectively landing on the bench.
Tyson “TenZ” Ngo had been formerly replaced on the roster by Subroza himself. TenZ is now involved in the streaming side of things for Cloud9 rather than playing for the actual team. Therefore, as of now, these are the figures involved in the Cloud9 organization:
- Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas (inactive)
- James “JamezIRL” Macaulay (coach)
- Tyson “TenZ” Ngo (streamer/content producer)
Cloud9’s future looks bleak
Though Cloud9 once had a roster to be reckoned with, its CSGO performances have only gone downhill since their winning the amazing Major comeback in early 2018 in Boston against FaZe Clan. The likes of Tyler “Latham” Skadoodle and Jake “Stewie2K” Yip had put up an amazing performance. The team subsequently made various signings and attempts to resurrect the once fear-inducing CSGO squad, but they have failed time and time again. The team has crumbled with no players left to compete online, let alone at LANs. Unless the team acquires a brand new roster, or does some internal rebuilding similarly to what Fnatic fid, we may not see Cloud9 back on the CSGO scene in the near future.
