This year’s College Esports Expo is returning on Feb. 26 in Boston. The expo was first launched as a forum back in 2017 thanks to the collaborative efforts of Emerson College students and faculty members. The forum addressed the growth of esports and the industry itself.
Now back for the third time, this year’s College Esports Expo is scheduled to feature Kurt Melcher. He is the strategic advisor for esports at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The event is also scheduled to include FaZe Clan executives, who will talk about the trials and tribulations of staying on top of the esports industry.
Other key speakers include senior leaders from the U.S. Army, Division One Esports administrators, esports curricula pioneers, as well as coaches and esports players from various levels of gameplay.
Kevin Hoang, the director of student and education programs at Twitch, has high hopes for the College Esports Expo. He said he believes in “Building the next generation of executives in the esports business.”
The panel topics are already online for the event. However, it should be noted that they are subject to change. Currently, topics include the best practices when it comes to esports wellness, the creation of high school esports curricula, a discussion about Twitch’s role in classroom learning, and how to foster inclusion within esports clubs.
This is only in addition to coaches who will review strategies on how to build effective esports teams, as well as how emerging technology is affecting the esports industry as a whole – and especially those who are Gen Z individuals.
The College Esports Expo is scheduled to begin on Feb. 26 at 9:00 a.m. ET in the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, which is located at 50 Park Plaza. College students, faculty, IT professionals, esports players, coaches, industry professionals, esports enthusiasts, and those who are interested in learning more about the industry are welcome to attend the event.
