This past weekend in St. Charles, Illinois was one of the biggest tournaments of the year, Combo Breaker. With over 16 games headlining the event, each with over 100 entrants, and two exceeding 500, this was a HUGE event for fighting games and fighting game fans of all types.
Not only that, Combo Breaker was also a Premier Event for the Capcom Pro Tour, and a Master Event for the Tekken World Tour, with top players gaining qualifier points for the Championship Circuit of their respective games. Combo Breaker also hosted the Last Chance Qualifier for the Summit of Power Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament, where top-ranked will be facing off against each other, along with other players voted in by the public.

Not only was Combo Breaker host to all these awesome tournaments, it also showcased a Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection exhibition featuring Daigo Umehara, Ricki Ortiz, Alex Valle, and Justin Wong, a showcase for ARIKA’s Fighting EX Layer, and an auction tournament for the upcoming titles BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle and SoulCalibur VI.
Also, during Top 8 of Street Fighter V spectators were treated to the debut trailer for Cody, which we broke down with the reveal trailer.
