“Stephanie is a legend in the esports industry. Having played professionally for 16 years, we recognize the expertise and innovative mindset that she brings to CLG,” said Dan Fleeter, COO Counter Logic Gaming, in a statement. “As an organization, we are committed to growing esports by empowering all those that play and Stephanie shares in our vision. Bringing her back into the CLG family to work on these initiatives is incredibly exciting.”

In her new role on Counter Logic Gaming, MissHarvey will apply her skills toward engaging with the female esports community. With her previous experience on the all-female roster of CLG Red, she will help influence esports programming to become more “inclusivity-focused.” In addition, other tasks include helping the organization’s partners engage with the audience, along with developing resources and initiatives to bring the community together.

MissHarvey wants to reach more females

“Having played professionally and being involved in game development, I couldn’t imagine a more perfect role for myself at this point in my esports career. I’m thrilled to be able to put my full support behind the programs CLG is creating for the gaming communities,” said missharvey on her new role. “There is a tremendous opportunity to take the next step in supporting them and lifting up the amateur scene in ways that would make us all stronger.”

The Canadian CSGO player began her career with Counter-Strike 1.6. Much of her career was as a player on Counter Logic Gaming Red between 2015 and 2019, with a one-year break in-between. Harvey also worked as a game designer at Ubisoft Montreal and has held a coaching role on LiViD Gaming. All of her other competitive roles have also been on all-female rosters in the Counter-Strike scene.

Many have attributed the fact that there are very few female players in the professional scene to harassment that often takes place in online play. In this new role, Harvey hopes to reach even more women and girls in gaming and help them take part in the community.
