Following Vitality’s sudden decision to pull out of ESL One New York qualifier in Europe, mousesports had a disappointing showing against CR4ZY. Most expected this CSGO matchup to be a blowout in favor of Chris “chrisJ” de Jong’s squad. Instead, we had an underdog team defeat the favorites, and in what fashion.
The mice will not attend ESL One New York this year
The best-of-three match started off on Mirage, where CR4ZY right off got an advantage in the half, 9-6. Even with a comeback effort on their terrorist side from mousesports, the European mix failed to close out the map, despite having a 14-12 lead at one point. Instead, Nestor “LETN1” Tanić and co. got their heads straight and stringed four rounds to snatch the map in their favor, 16-14.
Next up we had Train on our plates, a map that is known for mousesports to be stellar on the counter-terrorist side. On the terrorist side, however, the European mix does have some trouble, and we’ve seen this scenario here once more. The half ended in favor of CR4ZY 11-4, and mousesports were on their t-side. And then once the mice were on ct-side, a massive comeback emerged where CR4ZY were only able to snatch two rounds before ending their dreams of finishing the series 2-0. Train went mousesports’ way 16-13 following some stellar plays from chrisJ.
Another comeback, but this time, we end the map in our favor 💪 One more map will be played in this series, and who will advance to the next stage of the #ESLOne New York 2019 qualifier will be decided on Nuke! Get ready!

The decider, Nuke, showed which side was more comfortable playing on this arena. Following quite a back-and-forth half that went CR4ZY’s way 9-6, mousesports just could not find their way on their t-side once more. This led to Rokas “EspiranTo” Milasauskas and co. to close out the series 2-1 after winning on Nuke 16-9.

mousesports lack the new young blood edge
The matchup showed that when the relatively new young blood arrivals at mousesports are not putting up numbers, the team suffers greatly. Those young bloods are of course Özgür “woxic” Eker and David “frozen” ÄŒerňanský. We’ve seen their amazing fragging capability over the past couple of games, but it does go to show that when their form is lacking on a given day, the whole squad suffers tremendously. Hopefully, we will see a more consistent approach from the team in future matchups as the potential is definitely there.
