CSGO patch introduces 1v1 maps and a new crosshairs option

Yet another big patch to Counter-Strike:Global Offensive (CSGO) has gone live. Following a recent update featuring the SG 553 nerf, Valve has added yet another patch that brings something new to the table. The update features warmup 1v1 maps on Wingman alongside changes to various maps such as Anubis, Vertigo, and Train. In other news, Valve may have gotten inspiration from Valorant by implementing a new feature for crosshairs.

1v1 warmup maps on Wingman

Two maps that are in the Wingman mode have received a new warmup mode that pits players in an aim map before starting the match. For now, this new feature is only available on Train and Vertigo. However, at the official Counter-Strike blog, we may have received some hints that more maps as such will be added down the line: “The experimental warmup is currently limited to Wingman matches on Train and Vertigo, and may be added to other maps and Competitive Matchmaking in the future.”

Various CSGO maps undergo big changes

The patch also brings some major changes to various maps. Anubis and Chlorine, recently added community maps that are not present in the competitive map pool, had their fair share of tweaks:

– Anubis
— Fixed the prop draw distance at canal in front of A
— Increased the bomb explosion radius from 400 to 450
— Improved readability at A main and middle
— Several clipping fixes
— Fixed some missing prop faces
— Improved navigation so bots now know how to drop down areas
— Moved the spawn icons on the radar to the right coordinates
— Fixed nav file issue

– Chlorine
— Visual rework of base textures to help visibility
— Made B bombsite lights brighter
— Removed floating displacement near CT spawn

When it comes to maps in the competitive map pool, both Train and Vertigo received some alterations. However, it is Vertigo that was transformed in a big way, especially when it comes to bombsite B and stairs.

View custom crosshairs while spectating

An entirely new feature added to CSGO in this update is connected to crosshairs. Most avid Counter-Strike players have their own custom crosshairs. Upon being enabled, you can now see the player’s crosshairs while spectating them. Not only that, but you can also copy that exact same crosshairs in the menu and make it your own. If you find yourself spectating a pro-level match on GOTV in CSGO, you can copy each player’s crosshairs, definitely a neat feature that is more than likely to have come from Valorant.

The full patch notes can be found on the Counter-Strike blog.
