It has been a while since we received a major update to CS:GO. Finally, the developers have decided to add something new to the game. The new update features a set of unique ranks for the game’s battle royale mode, Danger Zone.

The developers have been gradually improving the Danger Zone game mode, and it seems like the most recent major updates have focused on it. This time around is no different. Players will now receive a unique rank ranging from Lab Rat I all the way to the Global Elite equivalent of The Howling Alpha, which is suspiciously similar to the M4A4 Howl weapon skin.

As of now, players will have a total of three separate ranks on their profile: the main matchmaking rank, the wingman rank, and finally a unique Danger Zone rank.

Fans don’t want Danger Zone

Shortly after the update was announced via Twitter, the most up-voted comments concern the fact that most do not play Danger Zone and would rather see a whole different update. Some examples include 128 tick servers, better anti-cheat systems, a new case, or even a new operation.

Danger Zone has received very mixed opinions in the CS:GO community. Some think of it as a fun way of taking a break from traditional matchmaking. Others, meanwhile, consider it useless and think the devs’ time should be spent on improving the core gameplay.

It is not the first time that the community has received an update that they haven’t asked for. Maps have come and gone out of the reserve and competitive map pools, and Vertigo is still in active duty. The community will probably not be satisfied until either FMPONE brings back Cache, a new case comes out, or better yet, a brand new operation arrives.

What do you personally think of the newest update? Do you play Danger Zone, or do you think it’s an unnecessary game mode? Let us know down in the comments below. As always remember to follow us at Daily Esports for all your latest news in the CS:GO world.
