This is the day countless CSGO fans have been waiting for. The latest update has brought about numerous changes to weapons and maps in Valve’s competitive FPS. The biggest update to the game is one that many in the community have been asking for. At long last, we have a nerf for the terrorist rifle, the SG 553, also known as the Krieg. Additionally, the M4A1-S’s price has been reduced, possibly making it a more popular choice.

SG 553 finally gets the nerf

The terrorist scoped weapon has been nerfed to “bring the weapon’s value to be more in line with other rifles”. To that end, Valve has decided to reduce the weapon’s rate of fire and accuracy.

The weapon’s increased fire rate over the AK-47 paired with a scope and 1-tap headshot made it many people’s primary choice over the classic Kalashnikov rifle. The reduction of the rate of fire and accuracy should pull it closer to the AK. This would put both weapons on par and make them viable options for purchase as a terrorist.

M4A1-S a viable choice once more?

The silenced younger brother of the M4A4 may be back on the table. After months of living in the shadow of the M4 and AUG, the M4A1-S’s price has dropped from $3100 to $2900. Meanwhile, the M4A4 still costs $3100. While the price difference is not much, that $200 is a price of a flashbang. In some force buys, this may prove just enough to secure a kevlar+helmet and an M4A1-S. Time will tell if the M4A1-S will become a more popular choice after this.

Here are all the weapon changes in today’s patch:

[ WEAPONS ]
