The free next-generation upgrade for the consoles is beginning to roll out for Cyberpunk 2077 owners. This contains Patch 1.5, which is around 40 GB. However, if players refunded their copy of Cyberpunk 2077 or have yet to purchase it, there is also a free trial available. This is for players to try out the game with the fixes and stability that Patch 1.5 brings.

The developers went over some of the fixes they delivered in Patch 1.5. While they have yet to release a full list of patch notes, they did go over what the next-gen upgrade brings for the current consoles on stream.

“With the update, Cyberpunk2077 takes advantage of the additional power of the newest generation of console hardware, allowing for ray tracing features and 4K with dynamic scaling, faster loading times, and a variety of other visual and technical improvements,” the developers said on stream.

PS5 users will also experience new functionality with the Dualsense controller. This includes using the controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.

In terms of overall changes that Patch 1.5 brings, there are several small updates to the core gameplay. The perk system has completely changed, giving players a new chance to respec their skill tree in their current playthrough. There are general visual updates for all versions of the game, which include better A.I. mechanics and driving handling. A.I. cars can crash, go on the pavement, drive over pedestrians, and people on the street will react better to their surroundings. Vehicles as a whole will also handle better for the player.

There’s also some DLC arriving with the patch. This mainly includes adding new weapons to Wilson’s shop. He has two new rifles, both with different looks and attachments. Some of his weapons are also on sale, making them easier to buy. Finally, the store will update every day, bringing new items that will show up for the player when they visit the shop.

Players will be able to change their appearance during their playthrough as well. Some additional DLC is an option to add lipstick color, which is also available in the initial character creator. Players can change their appearance in V’s Apartment, which is also receiving some DLC. They will be able to change the Apartment’s look and also buy an entirely new residence. There are six renovation options and four new apartments in different locations. All of this is done from V’s computer in their current apartment.

There are many more changes coming with Patch 1.5, which should be released on Cyberpunk 2077’s website soon.
