Professional Pokémon player and commentator Aaron “Cybertron” Zheng has joined Beastcoast, the organization announced Friday. He is the organization’s fourth Pokémon content creator, following James “Jamesspeed1” Baek, Chaotic Meatball and Celio’s Network.

Cybertron said in a YouTube announcement that he would primarily be a content creator for Beastcoast. He will contribute to the organization’s dedicated Pokémon channel, which began in December of last year.
“I joined Beastcoast because the team is really enthusiastic about Pokémon, which is unique and something I haven’t seen before with other esports organizations,” Cybertron said in a statement on the Beastcoast website. “My goal with content creation has always been to help more people get into the scene, whether it be competitive or casual. I’m mainly excited to have fun making content with people who all really love Pokémon.”

Cybertron has found great success in the Pokémon Video Game Championships since he began competing in 2008. He has won five regional championships and two national championships. Cybertron peaked with a top-four finish at the 2013 World Championships, where he lost to Ryosuke Kosuge in a set where his Rotom notoriously missed five Will-O-Wisps.

Cybertron began making YouTube content in 2014 and now has over 141,000 subscribers. In addition, he has been one of the most prominent VGC commentators since he began casting in 2016. However, Cybertron has also expressed interest in returning to competition as offline tournaments resume.
“[Cybertron’s] success as a competitor, content creator and commentator can’t be matched within the space and we’re beyond excited to welcome him to our team,” CEO Grant Zinn said in a statement on the Beastcoast website. “We are laser focused on making Beastcoast Pokémon the best place for Pokémon content, both casual and competitive.”
Before joining Beastcoast, Cybertron had been a member of Panda Global. Additionally, he was the subject of a recent mini-documentary created by Giovanni Costa and published on Wolfe “Wolfey” Glick’s YouTube channel.
