Update: Dark Star Cho’Gath release delayed

According to a tweet sent out by Riot KiWiKiD, Dark Star Cho’Gath’s initial release has moved back. The skin will now release on July 13 at 11:00 AM and sales will run through August 10, 11:30 PM. The plans around the charity contributions remain unchanged.

According to a tweet sent by the official League of Legends channel, a new charity skin is on the horizon. The Dark Star Cho’Gath skin has hit the PBE test server and will be made available to purchase on live servers from June 21 to July 20. 100% of the proceeds will go to local charities around the world.

A feedback thread on the PBE forum gives additional information about the skin. Dark Star Cho’Gath will come with a new model and textures, as well as new spell VFX, new SFX, a new recall animation, and new Feast transformations. You will see new color and texture additions upon reaching 4 and 8 stacks on Cho’s ultimate.

Dark Star Cho’Gath was made in partnership with Bryan, a child that the company connected with through the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Dark Star Cho’Gath was built with Bryan as part of The Make-A-Wish Foundation. Bringing Bryan’s vision into League of Legends is a huge honor for us, and we feel that this is a great opportunity to support organizations that make a real impact.

Dark Star Cho’Gath (and any related items) will be available for a limited time, with 100% of the proceeds going to charities around the world during that time.

We’d like to thank Bryan, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, and players for all the support.

This is the first Cho’Gath skin release since June 2015. It will cost 1350 RP and will only be available for a limited time.

Sweeper Rammus and Playmaker Lee Sin

Cho’Gath isn’t the only champion getting some fancy new clothes on the PBE. The upcoming release will also bring soccer-themed skins (or football, depending on where you’re from) for Rammus and Lee Sin. These skins join an already stacked line-up of soccer stars, like Striker Lucian, Goalkeeper Blitzcrank, and Red Card Katarina.
