Dellor’s Twitch account reinstated after 1 year suspension

Twitch has reinstated Matt “Dellor” Vaughn’s account. This update comes just over one year after the former Overwatch professional player was permanently banned from the live streaming platform for “self-harm.”

Dellor finally returns to Twitch

“I can’t think straight right now.. I had given up all hope. After everything I have said about them, Twitch actually unbanned me. I have been through so much and have tried so hard to improve myself and my stream and I didn’t think they saw or cared. Thank you Twitch,” wrote Dellor in a Twitter statement after discovering the news.

Dellor received a permanent ban from Twitch in October of 2019 after smashing a keyboard over his head. The streamer had done the same action several times prior and admitted that he had purchased flimsy keyboards for this exact purpose. However, it seemed like his existing four strikes had contributed to the extra harsh punishment. Dellor apologized to his fans after the incident, checked himself into a hospital’s psych ward for therapy, and promised to appeal the ban.

Successful appeal of permanent ban

It seemed like this incident was the last straw for Dellor. With Twitch not responding to his appeals, the streamer decided to pivot toward YouTube where he has built up a decent-sized fanbase. Despite no replies, the streamer continued to post appeals on social media, where he owned up to his mistakes and described the steps he had taken to improve himself. This included getting off a previous drug addiction along with taking classes and therapy to cope with his emotions.

His most recent appeal was in September of 2020, but there still seemed to be no response from Twitch. Some in the community initially compared his appeals to what Dr. Disrespect was going through, since the latter was also recently banned and the public given little reasoning as to why. Nevertheless, it seems like his repeated apologies finally paid off.

Dellor returns to Twitch with over 500 thousand followers and nearly 5 million channel views.
