Dendi announces his return to professional Dota 2 scene

Legendary Dota 2 mid laner Danil “Dendi” Ishutin has announced his return to the professional Dota 2 scene after leaving Natus Vincere earlier this year. The 29-year-old competed for Natus Vincere for over seven years but decided that he wanted to create his own team instead. However, he has now joined up with another team instead, contrary to what many fans expected his next move would be.

With the team name Viet Flashbacks, Dendi’s roster consists of Alexey “nongrata” Vasilyev, Alik “V-Tune” Vorobey, Rinat “KingR” Abdullin, and Nikola “LeBronDota” Popović. The team had previously made a run in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) closed qualifiers for the Mars Dota 2 League (MDL) Chengdu Major. However, the team was eliminated in the Groups Stage. It looks like the players will now attempt another trial run.

Dendi has achieved multiple accomplishments under the Natus Vincere roster. This includes first at The International 2011, along with 2nd place at both 2012 and 2013’s The International events. However, Natus Vincere did not fare as well at The International 2014, achieving only a 7 – 8th place finish.

Dendi continued competing for the organization until Sept 2018. At that point, it became clear that roster changes needed to happen to improve the team’s performance. The Ukrainian player still wished to compete in the professional scene and joined Southeast Asian Dota 2 organization Tigers. He also competed later for CIS team The Pango.

His new team has a few players with potential, but it will also face many difficult opponents in the heavily competitive CIS scene. Qualifier #2 will take place between Dec 1 – 6. Can Dendi lead this team to victory and form it into his own organization, as some other successful Dota 2 teams have? Or will this just be another short stint?
