As reported by multiple sources, the South Korean League of Legends team DragonX just finalized its 2020 roster. With Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu being the only member left from the old roster, the organization seriously committed in the offseason. Most notably, DragonX added former Griffin players Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon and Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon. Both players left Griffin following the recent controversy surrounding their owner and coach. Furthermore, the team also promoted trainee jungler Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyun and support Ryu “Keria” Min-suk to the main team. Lastly, the team will be coached by Kim “cvMax” Dae-ho after his infamous exit from Griffin.

An unwanted announcement

While most of the team members have been officially announced, this isn’t the case for Chovy and Doran. In a silly mistake, the DragonX organization accidentally posted two thumbnails featuring the players in their jerseys. It was supposed to be a dark silhouette teasing their latest signings, but their PR team uploaded the wrong files. The organization quickly removed the thumbnails, but a few media outlets managed to get them before the removal. However, this isn’t really a big deal as the official announcement will most likely happen later today on their official Twitter.

From west to east

The signing of Chovy to DragonX finally puts an end to the rumors surrounding him and his future, which suggested he might join a North American team. Notably, Evil Geniuses was trying to sign him but couldn’t agree on a deal. As we reported in one of our articles, Evil Geniuses went for European mid laner Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro after failing to acquire Chovy.

A move of an LCK player to NA for massive amounts of money wouldn’t be anything unusual these days. Dignitas recently signed Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon to a two-year, $2.3 million contract.
