As mentioned earlier, the eFootball.open competition welcomes anyone in the world to join in. It is second to a more professional format named eFootball.pro that is aimed at professional esports teams in a 3v3 format. The open competition is a 1v1 format.

The road to get to the World Finals is indeed a long one for those aiming to become the best. Players will register in November of this year with their platform and region and choose a club that they must stick with. The list of clubs will apparently be announced at a later date.

Online qualifiers take place between December and February 2020. Matchday Mode will sort players according to skill level from Basic to Expert. Then top 50 ranked players per each club and region at Expert level will reach the online finals.

For online finals, the top 50 of the Expert ranking of each club will battle it out to reach the Regional Finals in Asia, Americas, and Europe. The World Final, which will take place in July 2020, will see the winners of each club from each region battle it out in a grand finale.

We are yet to see a detailed format of the eFootball.pro competition as Konami has not provided more details on it. You can read up on the complete announcement over at the official Konami website.
