Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins appeared on The Ellen Show last week to show Ellen Degeneres the ropes of Fortnite and it did not go that well, but was hilarious to watch. He tried to teach Ellen how to play Fortnite. Suffice to say she wasn’t able to quite grasp it, but he did his best to help her. Now, this week Ellen joined his Twitch channel to livestream Fortnite with him.

According to the clip below, it didn’t last too long but was still fun to watch as her audience and Ninja’s fans cheered them both on in their matches.

Ninja Puts Aside “No Streaming With Women” Rule

Ellen was steaming directly from the set of The Ellen Show and that episode is set to air today. Ninja has also gone on the record previously stating why he won’t stream with female players because of online harassment. During a recent interview with Polygon he said the following :

“If I have one conversation with one female streamer where we’re playing with one another, and even if there’s a hint of flirting, that is going to be taken and going to be put on every single video and be clickbait forever,” Blevins said. “The only way to avoid that is to not play with them at all.”

It is kind of sad that people take him simply partnering up with a female to stream out of context, forcing him to make that statement. Hopefully, that changes. He hasn’t confirmed whether  his event with Ellen represents a change in that attitude, but only time will tell and this is a good sign.

Ellen didn’t really grasp Fortnite, so the stream is quite short and the segment ended with them both finishing pretty badly. Still, you have to appreciate her patience and willingness to want to learn and at least try to play Fortnite for someone who probably doesn’t spend a lot of time gaming as much as Ninja does.

Check out the episode today when it airs on October 16 and let us know your thoughts on the whole partnership.
