According to a report from Jarek “DeKay” Lewis, Finnish esports organization ENCE will replace Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen with Miikka “suNny” Kemppi. This change for ENCE’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster will reportedly happen after the StarLadder Berlin Major. With this alleged deal, suNny will play under the ENCE organization in September’s CSGO BLAST Pro Series Moscow.

suNny to ENCE

Miikka “suNny” Kemppi started his competitive career playing Counter-Strike 1.6 for Finnish team ajuri. Later, he played under organizations like ENCE Esports, Recursive Esports, Team Menace, ENCORE, Team ROCCAT, PENTA Sports, and mousesports. While with mousesports, the team went on to win at 2017’s ESG Tour Mykonos, StarLadder & i-League StarSeries Season 4, 2018’s Budapest V4 Future Sports Festival, and 2018’s ESL One: New York.

However, suNny was moved to the bench in March of 2019. Shortly after, mousesports decided to announce a new roster. The new lineup consisted of Chris “chrisJ” de Jong, Robin “ropz” Kool, Finn “karrigan” Andersen, Özgür “woxic” Eker, and David “frozen” Čerňanský. Tomáš “oskar” Šťastný was released from the roster, and he subsequently went to HellRaisers.

Aleksib being replaced

Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen is also a professional Finnish CSGO player. He started his competitive career playing for Recursive Esports, then continued through SkitLite Gaming, Findictus, ENCE Esports, ENCORE, Havu Gaming, and finally back again to ENCE.

While playing for ENCE, the team went on to win first at StarSeries & i-League’s Season 6 and 2019’s BLAST Pro Series: Madrid. The roster also placed second at 2019’s Intel Extreme Masters XIII – Katowice Major, 2019’s DreamHack Masters Dallas, and most recently the Intel Extreme Masters XIV – Chicago.

The 2019 StarLadder Berlin Major takes place between Aug. 23 and Sept. 8. It is the 15th Valve-sponsored CSGO major championship and features a USD $1 million prize pool. If the report is true, this will be the last tournament that ENCE will play with Aleksib still on the roster.
