For the first time since Season 9, players can hop on Fortnite and not have to worry about the Mech. While only temporary, Epic Games has disabled the B.R.U.T.E. in all game modes, both casual and competitive. This is due to the fact that the current version of the Mech has an insane stomping bug that needs adjusting. This bug was made known by Twitch streamer SypherPK in a video on Twitter.
There’s no timetable for when Epic plans to re-release the Mech back into Fortnite. So, for the time being, you can play the game how it was originally meant to be played.
The B.R.U.T.E. disabled in Fortnite due to stomping glitch
This is by no means the first time Epic has disabled one of their items due to a bug. In pretty much every season, they’ve had some type of game-breaking glitch that needs fixing. In Season 9, the Ballers were removed for a time due to a bug with their movement and damage intake.
For this occasion, the Mech was creating even more havoc than it had already caused. Yesterday, it was found that when the Mech performs a stomp attack, it would damage the intended target no matter how far away they were. Here is SypherPK with an explanation and video proof:
Heya Folks!
The mech is incredibly bugged right now.. please remove until further notice. pic.twitter.com/s6xR7nzRIh

Clearly, this is not how the Mech is supposed to operate. The B.R.U.T.E. is strong, granted, but not strong enough to eliminate an enemy 15 yards away with a single stomp. When Epic Games saw this video, which blew up on Twitter, they swiftly intervened and disabled the Mech from Fortnite.
The B.R.U.T.E. has been temporarily disabled from all playlists while we resolve an issue caused by its air stomp attack.
We're working to resolve this issue and will provide an update when we have more information.

Though some players might wish this was permanent, it is only a temporary disabling. Epic plans to release the Mech back into Fortnite once the bug is identified and taken care of. However, this situation does raise some questions about Epic Games’ competency. If they let this behemoth of a glitch slip by their testing, what else are they missing?
