The tournament will feature 10 of the best teams from the CIS region. It will take place online and gives teams a chance that missed out on the International 10 to maintain form.

The Dota 2 Champions League format

The tournament had an open qualifier that ended with V-gaming taking the spot, fighting through a single elimination bracket. Now that the 10 teams have been decided, The teams will play in a round-robin group stage to determine seeding. Each team will have to fight through a best-of-three against every other team until a top six is decided. The top six will move on to the upper bracket of the playoff bracket, while the four will be seeded into the lower bracket. Each game in the playoff bracket will also be a best-of-three. A best-of-five grand finals will determine an eventual winner.

The ten participants invited to the Dota 2 Champion’s League are:

PuckChamp
B8
Team Unique
Nemiga Gaming
Team Empire
Spider Pigzs
Fantastic.Five
HellRaisers
V-Gaming
Qwerty44

While Team Spirit, the previous winners of the tournament, will not be back to defend their crown, there are plenty of other teams fighting for the prize. HellRaisers, in particular, are one to look out for; a lower division EU Dota Pro Circuit team that performed well in the regular season and regional qualifier.

All the matches will be streamed in Russian on the official Twitch channel of the RuHub Studio. For the English broadcast, fans can look no further than TEB tv, a network known for covering Russian tournaments.
