The “first of its kind” gaming series debuts May 2020. Qualifiers for participating titles, Fortnite and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, begin February 6 and run through March 27.

Partnering with Xbox, the company is due to expand into 11 Walmart Supercenter locations by April 2020. Following the addition, there will be two large scale stand-alone facilities and 18 in-store locations, all of which will be host locations for the series.

Tyler Endres, CEO of Esports Arena, is excited for the opportunities the new gaming locations offer to the public:

“Our national expansion provides accessibility to gamers throughout the United States who may otherwise not have competitive gaming experience.”

The top 40 qualified competitors are awarded sponsorships and gaming contracts through Esports Arena. Contracted players also “represent a premier brand”, including Cheez-It, G Fuel, Intel, and Pop Tarts. Moreover, according to their video announcement, the company will provide a monthly $1,000 stipend to support their professional gamers.

All locations will have two professional players, one in each participating title. The players will subsequently compete during live tournaments hosted at each of the 20 gaming locations over a 20-week series.

Endres commented:

“The announcement of Esports Arena Series E is the next step in providing opportunities for gamers to realize their potential and become a contracted professional within the Esports Arena ecosystem.”

Where to watch

The organization will produce weekly live streams of the competition hosted at walmart.com/esportsarena. Supercenter locations will also provide high-end gaming PCs and consoles for use. Visitors can experience the Esports Arena Pro Shop, which will carry snacks, beverages, and gaming equipment.

Who is Esports Arena?

Esports Arena LLC is a dedicated gaming facility in North America that opened their first location in Orange County, CA in 2015. Since then, the organization has expanded across the United States. Their gaming locations host esports tournaments, local competitions, and large scale events. Their mission is to provide a path into professional gaming for talented gamers who may lack resources or knowledge to do so on their own.
