Despite only being a game in early access, Eternal Return: Black Survival has announced a big charity invitational: the Lemon-Aid Benefit Series. The event is set for Sunday, September 26. Spectators can catch the action live on Twitch when the games start at 4 p.m. PST.
The Battle-Royale MOBA hybrid is starting to bring awareness to the game as it gears up for an official release. The Lemon-Aid Benefit Series will pit nine streamers and nine ERBS pros against each other for a $10,000 prize pool that will be distributed to charities of the top player’s choice. Here is a breakdown of the format and who is playing.
The Format
The tournament format will function similarly to a pro-am event seen in other sports. The nine streamers and nine pros will be split up into nine teams of two. To clarify, one pro and one streamer will pair up with each other and will face off against the other eight teams in the lobby. The nine teams will play a set amount of games with points being awarded each game based on overall placement as well as kills. Finally, the team with the most points at the end of the series will be crowned the Lemon-Aid Benefit Series victor.
The Pros
The nine pro players have already been announced. Among the most known pro players competing are “Averse” and “Homecoming” who represented North America at the first-ever ERBS World Championships earlier this year. Here is a full list of pros.
The Streamers
At the time of this article’s publishing, only a handful of the steamers have been revealed and the official ERBS Twitter is revealing more daily. At this point, four of the nine personalities have been revealed. Surprisingly, the players announced so far have never expressed interest in ERBS before. Three of the four are good friends Travis Gafford, Ovilee May, and Clayton “CaptainFlowers” Raines. It is unknown if any of them have ever played the game. Furthermore, none of them have ever streamed the game on their Twitch channels. The last player revealed at this point is esports content creator “Yoni”. The remaining competitors will be revealed before the event starts on September 26. Here is the current list of streamers.
On top of being able to see these players in action, spectators can earn in-game currency by just watching the event. As long as fans have their ERBS account linked to their Twitch accounts, those fans will earn 1,000 A-Coins just for watching the action. The A-Coins will be deposited into their accounts once they have hit an hour of watch time. Additionally, those coins can be used to purchase new characters too.
