eUnited replace moose with freakazoid on CSGO roster

North American esports organization eUnited has announced it has replaced Kaleb “moose” Jayne with Ryan “freakazoid” Abadir on its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster. This roster change was requested by moose, who wanted to take a break. Freakazoid will join eUnited after being released from Ghost Gaming three months ago.

Before joining eUnited

Ryan “freakazoid” Abadir is an American professional CSGO player who got his start on Counter-Strike: Source. He started competing in 2010 with teams like Area 51 Gaming, Swole Patrol, Netcode Illuminati, and Team Dynamic. He then transitioned to CSGO, where he has competed under Frost Gaming, Homeless, Cloud9, Echo Fox, Morior Invictus Esports, Muffin Lightning, and Ghost Gaming.

While at Ghost Gaming, the team never achieved anything substantial other than a 3 – 4th place finish at iBUYPOWER’s Masters IV. Other placements include 7 – 8th at Season 9 of ESL Pro League and 5th at cs_summit 4. However, this wasn’t enough, as Ghost Gaming released its entire CSGO roster shortly after in June of 2019.

Reuniting with brother

Freakazoid reunites with his brother Austin “Cooper-” Abadir on eUnited. The two brothers played together on Morior Invictus Esports, Muffin Lightning, and Swole Patrol. The current eUnited roster consists of Austin “Cooper-” Abadir, Victor “food” Wong, Anthony “vanity” Malaspina, Edgar “MarKE” Maldonado, and Ryan “freakazoid” Abadir. Kaleb “moose” Jayne is on the bench, while Armeen “a2z” Toussi is the roster’s coach.

“Nothing to say about my brother, other than money over loyalty,” said freakazoid in a since-deleted tweet. “Just another [Counter Strike] bum playing for paychecks and themselves. Good luck to you ‘brother’.” He later apologized, stating that he had “tweeted out of anger” because his brother left the team right before playoffs.

While freakazoid is a long-time player in the North American CSGO scene, he isn’t considered a top-tier player. However, he will be able to bring his experience over to a struggling team. The eUnited roster hasn’t placed above the bottom half of the bracket at any events in 2019. This is excluding a small victory in a 1st place finish at the B-Tier Mythic Cup.

Freakazoid made his debut with the new team at ESL One: New York on Sept 26, but the team was knocked out in dead last after losing both matches.
