Excel Esports’ VCT 2022 Open Qualifer roster revealed

Four players join Excel Esports

On Saturday Excel Esports revealed their roster for the VCT 2022 Open Qualifier after checking in for the event. This includes the reported pickups of Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski, Oscar “ozzy” Scott, Dragan “elllement” Milanović and Egor “chiwawa” Stepanyuk. The signings have yet to be confirmed, but will be updated here when they are.

Excel lock-in roster for Open Qualifier

This roster was revealed on the official VCT website, where teams have to check in their rosters before the season begins. The expected members of Excel Esports are there, from player Muhammad “Moe40” Hariff to coaches Sam “Fields” Greenfield and Jimmy “Jumpy” Berndtsson. However, this is where the rumored moves of paTiTek, ozzy, elllement and chiwawa solidify.

For paTiTek, after playing well on G2 Esports, this is another fresh start. After moving to Team Heretics and then moving to inactive, this gives him another opportunity to prove himself as a player to watch for the 2022 season.

Ozzy first made his mark as a stand-in for G2 Esports at the VCT Stage 2 Challengers 2 event, losing to Fnatic. Since that time, he joined team NoPoaching, along with teammate elllement. As for elllement, he was MVP of the VCT 2021 EU Stage 1 Challengers 1 event for team Monkey Business. After playing for OG, he also moved to NoPoaching.

Last but not least, chiwawa recently played for Ninjas in Pyjamas, winning both VCT 2021 EU Stage 1 Challengers 1 and 2. However, since Nov. 2021, he’s been inactive on their roster. Now, much like fellow former inactive player paTiTek, he has another chance to prove his skills in Europe.

Excel’s future

With these Excel Esports roster pickups confirmed for the Open Qualifier, the official signings are the only thing left. Combined with earlier reports, this has the potential to be the starting Excel roster for 2022. The roster pickups consist of two experienced but formerly inactive players on the roster, along with two fresh players. Now, it’s just a matter of time before we see this roster play together for the first time.
