Manchester City Football Club is an English football club that competes in the Premier League. The Premier League is the top tier of English football, which only has 20 teams. Manchester City has four titles and is the current championship team. It is considered the fifth most valuable football club in the world at $2.47 billion USD. The partnership will feature the two organizations creating content on each of their social media channels, along with fan events.

“Esports is the world’s fastest growing spectator sport and this collaboration with FaZe Clan marks the start of an exciting new chapter in Manchester City’s esports journey,” said Nuria Tarre, the Chief Marketing Officer at City Football Group, in a press statement. “We recognise that fans want to celebrate their love for football across many aspects of their lives, including fashion, music and gaming, to create a culture that goes beyond what happens on the pitch.”

There will also be a shared training facility where FaZe Clan will bring its FIFA players to practice. The training facility will have a retail area for fans to purchase limited edition co-branded products. The two organizations previously created content together during Manchester City’s tour of the United States in 2017.

“This alliance with Manchester City creates a powerful opportunity to join our collective fan base and cultures on and off the field,” said Lee Trink, the Chief Executive Officer for FaZe Clan. “FaZe Clan will continue to push the boundaries of gaming and esports by engaging our fans with experiences that are meaningful, memorable and surprising.”

While FaZe Clan is known for its presence in the esports scene, Manchester City was the first Premier League team to launch a FIFA online team. The organization also has an EA Sports partnership, where it will create an esports show around FIFA online. Similarly, FaZe Clan also has its own player Tassal “Tass” Rushan, who is a FIFA World Cup Champion.
