FaZe Clan finally pick up a LAN victory after a successful run at Blast Pro Copenhagen. The win comes after defeating NiP in a clean best-of-three CSGO matchup that only required two maps to be resolved. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač was awarded the MVP of the tournament following his impressive performance in Copenhagen.

FaZe Clan snag the unexpected victory

Not many would have put their money on FaZe Clan to be victorious at Blast Pro Series Copenhagen. Despite the team just signing Marcelo “coldzera” David, the team is still playing with Helvijs “broky” Saukants, who is currently on trial. In fact, FaZe has fallen all the way down to the #21 spot on HLTV’s ranking, a spot so low that it hasn’t been recorded for at least two years. With such poor form, it was difficult to even consider FaZe getting out of the initial group stage. Nevertheless, the international mix started out strong by tearing NiP apart 16-3 and continued their form until they got battered by Team Liquid 16-5. This didn’t matter, however, as they already were in the final where they replicated their earlier meeting by swiftly dealing with NiP — despite the fact that the first map, Nuke, went to overtime.

NiKo claims MVP award

Ranked as the #3 best player in the world the previous season, NiKo is a central figure of FaZe Clan’s CSGO team. Being extremely consistent, the Bosnian 22-year-old showed his stardom throughout the tournament, attaining a fantastic rating 2.0 of 1.33 over seven maps. A fantastic joint effort between NiKo and coldzera to seal the tournament showed the skill present on the roster.
