FIFA 19 soundtrack revealed

The FIFA soundtrack is an iconic part of the game each year. Players often refer to FIFA songs when they list their favorite tracks. This year will be no different. Years of late have been somewhat lackluster when it comes to the soundtracks. However, FIFA 2002-2013 had some great tracks such as “Kids” by MGMT, “The Big Bang” by Rock Mafia, and “Jerk It Out” by Caesars to name a few. EA has called their soundtracks “the most influential global soundtrack series in video game history.”

This year’s soundtrack

FIFA 19‘s soundtrack seems to have a more hip-hop influenced list with award-winning artists such as Logic and Childish Gambino being included. It looks like EA has done some research on its target market, and how they correlate with music’s target audiences.

After a couple of listen-throughs of this playlist, it is certainly one to remember with artists such as Logic, LSD (Labrinth, Sia, and Diplo), and Bugzy Malone making this list speak to fans of all genres. As well as being diverse in genres, the soundtrack also features artists from all around the world. This gives players a good idea of which sounds come from certain parts of the world. You can check out the full soundtrack below or stream it on Spotify here.

Cosmetic Items

Along with the new soundtrack, comes new cosmetic items in FUT. Some of the featured artists on the list have created their own kits. These will be accessible in Ultimate Team only. Players who pre-order the game will receive these kits for free, but the rest of the player base will have the chance to purchase them from the FIFA Catalog later in the cycle of the game. These cosmetic items allow players to support their favorite artists, whilst having a unique look at the start of the game.

Possible New Features

Although it’s a small feature, the soundtrack feature could be improved in FIFA 19. There was previously a feature which allowed players to install their own soundtrack. This meant that players could listen to their own music if they didn’t like the current soundtrack in the game. In addition to this, games such as Rocket League contain multiple soundtracks. This means that players can pick and choose which tracks they like, and only play them. This would appeal to a wider range of players, as some outliers in current market research will not be happy with the direction that the current soundtrack is going in.

It would also be great to see a ‘Skip’ feature. If a player does not like a song, then they should be able to skip it. It is as simple as that.

For those less competitive players, it would be great to see a feature which allowed players to listen to the soundtrack during matches. This would be a good addition, as the commentary sometimes becomes repetitive and boring. I personally listen to my own music when casually playing FIFA.

Genres in Game modes

Another idea for FIFA’s soundtrack would be to implement different types of music in different game modes. Some examples of this could be an intense genre in Ultimate Team because of the competitive nature of the mode. There could be some sort of laid back type of music in the Kick-Off or Career Mode, as these are often used to escape from the competitive modes.

This is something The Journey does well. They implement different types of instrumentals into certain scenes to add emphasis to the situation

Champions League Music

It is still uncertain if the iconic Champions League song will be in the FIFA 19 soundtrack. However, it would a welcomed addition, specifically being played before the games. EA does have the licensing to this specific song, as it can be heard in the original FIFA 19 trailer. This specific song was a remix, to emphasize the formidable nature of the song.

Other UEFA competitions do not have iconic songs such as the Champions League theme tune; it would be great if we could hear unique songs specifically composed to these competitions. This would be great to see in Career Mode games as it would add to the authenticity of the experience, which is EA’s main concern when it comes to licensing game modes. and features.

Will you be using these kits in FIFA 19 Ultimate Team? Also, what are your opinions on the soundtrack? We’d love to hear from you. FIFA ratings will be released soon, so we recommend that you stay tuned to our FIFA archives here, to get all of the news first.
