Final betting odds on Worlds 2021 winner

The final odds for the 2021 League of Legends World Championships have been locked in

2021 Worlds is hours away, and 22 teams are ready to vie for the most prestigious prize in all of League of Legends: the Summoner’s Cup.

While technically, every team has a chance to make it to the final on Nov. 6 and fight for the right to be called world champion, not all teams are created equal. For the most part, the League of Legends World Championship has seen heavy favorites win it all, Cinderellas falling short in the end.

Since the Taipei Assassins hoisted the Summoner’s Cup in 2012, oddsmaker favorite after favorite has won the title. While it’s not always the No. 1 team to win it all, history shows that one of the top three favorites has won the Summoner’s Cup dating back to when Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok won his first world title in 2013.

With the tournament set to begin, these are the final odds to win Worlds outright, provided by Betway.

How the odds work: If a team is at 3.20 and you bet $100, you’ll receive $320 altogether if they win. If a team is at 101.0 and you bet $100, you’ll receive $10,100 (10k plus your original bet) if they pull off the upset.

The Favorites

  • FunPlus Phoenix: 3.20
  • DWG KIA: 4.25
  • Edward Gaming: 4.75

Remember, if history holds true and the trend continues, one of these three teams will be your winners at the end of the tournament. FPX lost to EDG in the domestic LPL finals but are still the odds-on favorite to win it all in at Worlds 2021.

The Contenders

  • Royal Never Give Up: 7.00
  • MAD Lions: 9.00
  • T1: 10.00

After the big three frontrunners, we have the trio of contenders that bettors believe could come from behind and take the championship. RNG won the Mid-Season Invitational earlier this year in Iceland, MAD Lions come in with heavy momentum following their back-to-back conquest of Europe, and T1 enter worlds as the winningest franchise in League of Legends history.

The Dark Horses

  • Fnatic: 15.00
  • LNG Esports: 21.00
  • Gen.G: 23.00
  • PSG Talon: 26.00
  • Rogue: 26.00
  • Hanwha Life Esports: 31.00

These are the teams where the bets almost look too good to be true. Wow, you can get Hanwha Life at those odds? PSG Talon dominated Asia-Pacific and were one of the best teams at MSI! This tier is generally where at least one of them makes a deep run into the tournament before ultimately losing in the semifinals or final to one of the teams favored above them.

The North American Zone

  • 100 Thieves: 51.00
  • Team Liquid: 51.00
  • Cloud9: 51.00

Yes, all three North American representatives are at the same exact odds. How patriotic are you feeling this October?

The I’ll-Make-A-Small-Bet-But-If-They-Win-I’ll-Be-Rich! Zone

  • Beyond Gaming: 101.00
  • RED Canids: 201.00
  • Galatasaray: 251.00
  • Detonation FocusMe: 301.00
  • Infinity Esports: 301.00
  • Unicorns of Love: 30.1.00
  • PEACE: 501.00

We know that money signs are going off in your head, tabulating the numbers of how much you could make even if you put a small sum on the likes of the Unicorns of Love, and they win it all. This is the zone where oddsmakers rake in the easy money, especially looking at the extensive results from previous world championships taken into consideration.

A flier on a long shot is always fun, but don’t bet your house on PEACE thinking you’re about to become the next Jeff Bezos.
